It's August, and I had a little downtime from the day job, so I visited a college with myjoyed daughter and en summer in Maine for a week. This is the post, so let's get to it.  A bit about movies I saw a trailer for a new movie - (Trailer here >  Y2K = Maximum Overdrive, but I'll be there for it. For the actual cutover to Y2k, I was sitting in a dentist's chair in a tattoo parlor, where Jen was apprenticing, getting a dragon tattoo on my arm. It was, not quite, but soon to be, the year of the Dragon, and Jen's Chinese Zodiac sign was a dragon. Later that year, we would get married, so I'm glad that worked out. At least it mostly worked out. A few years later, tattooing legend Ed Hardy's dragons started appearing on a bunch of shirts and got really popular, making me regret it a little bit. A bit of a weird month to say the least but here are some books and movies I have picked up or enjoyed followed by a bit of an update on my writing. A bit about Books: These are a few books I picked up and will read at some point in the future. Black Sheep by Rachel Harrison Rouge: A Novel by Mona Awad A book I have already ready, but it's available for everyone else to read soon. Dear Hanna: A Novel by Zoje Stage is out on August 13. As noted previously, it was a great read and a follow-up to Baby Teeth (Also a great read) Still reading Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. I have started reading Fifty Beasts to Break your Heart by Gennarose Nethercott A bit about Movies: I saw Longlegs because how could I not see it? It's the last day of March and while it was supposed to be spring and the poor little groundhog prognosticator predicted we'd be in full sun with flowers coming out of our ears its been clouds, and rain, and dark, and recently a storm hit that dumped more snow than we have had all year. The chives in the garden that were slowly making their way to edible were buried, so I'll have to wait a little while longer to have them with a tofu scramble or vegan eggs.  I had lots of plans to write this month. I also had the motivation and the ideas. I have so many ideas that I can't wait to work through and get out of my brain. I also did not have to travel in March so I could set up a nice routine for writing. As a result, I have barely written anything. In the past, I'd wonder what went wrong.
