A Good Meal
After a long day at the county fair, the main character stops at a rest stop to take a leak. After being knocked out cold in the rest stop bathroom, the main character finds himself locked in a shed with nothing but 3 meals a day and a loop of Lethal Weapon 2 on VHS. For over a month the main character convinces himself he is being held for ransom and dreams about the lives of his captor and his family members.
"He could smell the warm plastic and tubes from the electronics, the warm almost human smell of the wool blanket. He could smell the old grey wood on the walls, slightly dusty. He could smell himself coming from the bucket across the shed and smell his unwashed self wafting up from his armpits and his pants very faintly smelled of the fair, sugar, fried food, motor oil and manure."
