June 2023
It's summer, and this month, I end up another year older.
I read Brandon Sanderson's The Frugal Wizards HandBook to Surviving Medieval England.
Reading book 4 of the Wayfarer Series, The Galaxy and the Ground Within by Becky Chambers. I think there is one Novella of hers that I have not read yet. I love her stories, but I'm due to read something spooky soon.
Got some new books for my birthday (Maybe... if so, show the book haul)
Picked up a new bookshelf for my office so all the books I want to read are closer to me
Honestly did not watch much - Mostly played Tears of the Kingdom when I had free time
Except Evil Dead Rise showed up on HBO/HBO MAX/MAX, and I watched and enjoyed that. Love how it brought the story out of the woods and into the city. They basically stayed in their apartment, but it worked.
I looked into some self-publishing stuff - Kindle Direct has hardcover books now. Not sure if I'm going to bother. I reached out to some book formaters on Fiverr to see if I can avoid that work while I compile a book of short stories and novellas. I spent way too much time trying to lump some of those stories together in a cohesive way... I also need to edit them a bit more, but maybe that's a job for Fivvr as well.
As for writing, it was not much. But I'm going to stop calling 'not writing' procrastination. I don't think that's fair. I didn't write because I didn't feel like writing. Next month, maybe I will feel like writing. I have a few things to work on that I'm excited to write about. I thought quite a bit about the story I and working on, but I didn't set aside time to work out and solidify many details.
This image is a little book stack of folk horror anthologies I got for my birthday.
